How to Use Binance Safely
Step by Step

Create and secure your own Binance account, get verified, and make your first trade — the right way, with no shortcuts that put your funds at risk.

1
Create your account from an official source only
Not done

Go to binance.com directly, or install the official Binance app from the Apple App Store / Google Play. Never use a link sent to you privately by a "recruiter" or in a chat message. Sign up with your email or phone and set a strong password you do not reuse anywhere else.

💡 Bookmark the official domain so you never rely on search results or links from strangers.
  • I created my account from the official app or website
  • I set a unique, strong password

2
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
Not done

Before doing anything else, open Security in your account settings and connect an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator. Save the backup codes somewhere private and offline. 2FA is the single most effective protection against account takeover.

💡 Never read your 2FA code out loud to anyone, on a call or in chat — not even to "Binance support".
  • I enabled an authenticator app
  • I saved my backup codes offline

3
Complete identity verification (KYC)
Not done

Go to Identification and submit a government ID plus a selfie as prompted. This is a standard, regulated step on every licensed exchange and unlocks deposits, withdrawals and higher limits. Submit these documents only inside the official app or website.

💡 A request to send your ID by email or chat to an "agent" outside the app is never legitimate.
  • I completed identity verification inside the official app

4
Understand deposits vs. trading
Not done

You can add funds two ways: buying crypto directly under Buy Crypto with a card or bank transfer, or depositing crypto you already own from another wallet under Wallet → Deposit. Trading (Spot) simply exchanges one asset for another at the current market price — it does not involve anyone else's money.

5
Make your first trade
Not done

Go to Trade → Spot, choose a pair such as BTC/USDT, review the current price, and place a small Market order to start. Check that it appears correctly in Order History before trading larger amounts.

💡 Start small while you are still learning how order confirmation and fees work.

6
Set up withdrawal protection
Not done

Under Security, enable a Withdrawal Whitelist so funds can only be sent to addresses you have pre-approved. This stops an attacker from withdrawing to their own address even if they manage to log into your account.

  • I enabled withdrawal address whitelisting

7
Recognize and avoid common scams
Not done

Binance support will never message you first, never ask for your password or 2FA codes, and never ask you to send crypto to "verify" your account. If a "job", "recruiter" or "investment manager" ever asks you to receive money in your own bank account and convert it to crypto on their behalf, that is not a legitimate use of Binance — do not do it, and report the account.

⚠️ This step is required for every candidate on this platform, regardless of the job you are applying for.
  • I understand what Binance support will and will not ask me for
  • I know how to recognize a money-mule request and will refuse it
